The above dates are the Dare County early voting schedule. Gather all of your friends and family and vote this year, you can tell how important it is for everyone to participate, especially in Dare County elections.

One-Stop absentee voting (early voting) begins on February 13, 2020 at:

  • Dare County Administration Building at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo
  • Kill Devil Hills Town Hall at 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills
  • Fessenen Center Annex at 47017 Buxton Back Road, Buxton

The sites are open weekdays beginning February 13 – February 29, 2020
from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The sites are closed Saturdays with the
exception of Saturday, February 29, when it they will be open from 8:00
a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for One-Stop absentee voting.

Election Day for Dare County is March 3rd, 2020. Go vote from 7am to 7:30pm!

VOTER REGISTRATION

You may register to vote in Dare County if you are:

  • A citizen of the United States; and
  • 18 years of age or older by the election date; and
  • A legal resident of Dare County for 30 days by the date of the next election.

Registration is easy. Just complete the NC Voter Registration Application and return it to the Dare County Board of Elections office. You may drop-off the form during normal business hours or send it by mail. Addresses for both options are shown below.

The Voter Registration Application is also available at the following locations:

  • North Carolina Board of Elections website
  • Dare County Board of Elections office
  • Dare County public libraries
  • DMV
  • Town hall offices
  • Various public assistance agencies.

The application form must be postmarked or delivered 25 days before the date of an election.

Absentee Voting

If you will be away from your polling place or otherwise indisposed on election day, you can still vote by using an absentee ballot.

First, download and complete the North Carolina Absentee Ballot Request Form.

Then mail, fax, email, or deliver the form in person to the Dare County Board of Elections Administrative Office by 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday before election day.
