The Dare County Democratic Party will hold its annual county convention on Saturday, April 8, at the Dare Center in the Dare Administrative Complex in Manteo. Coffee and donuts served at 9:30; convention business begins at 10 a.m.
Deborah Ross, former Democratic candidate for US Senate and a member of the North Carolina House for a decade ending in 2013, will be the keynote speaker. A Wake County resident, Ross also calls Dare County home when at her cottage in Salvo.
The local favorites, Voices of Heritage, will sing.
“This is one of the most important conventions we ever have held,” said Fountain Odom, DCDP chairman. “There is so much work to do on all levels of government to start righting the wrongs of the past several years. It is an all-hands-on-deck situation where there is a great need for participation in getting good Democrats elected to office.”
All registered Democrats are encouraged to attend this meeting during which county party officers and 3rd District delegates will be chosen to serve for the next two years.
